4 Endearing Ways to Personalize your Winter Wedding Favors

This winter many brides are looking for great items to give to their guest in order to show their gratitude to attendees coming to their wedding. The winter time is a difficult source of ideas for themes as opposed to other seasons during the year due to the limited variations. However there is a wide selection of winter wedding favors to meet any possible need a bride might have. For the bride that is on a budget personalized winter wedding favors is a great way to go. First, they allow a bride to turn even ordinary objects into great wedding favors. Second, they add a personal touch that giving a generic gift would not be able to convey. Finally, they can be used to directly say thank you with short inscriptions. When you combine this with the wide variety of items a bride can give as guest gifts. The possibilities are endless. Here are some great ways that personalization can be used.

One way to use personalization in winter wedding favors is by personalizing cups and other drinking utensils. These are great because personalized cups meet the key criteria for a successful wedding favor. First, they are gender neutral. Either a man or woman can use them without much embarrassment. Second, they are useful. Everyone needs a cup, mug, or wine glass at one time or another so it is not something that can easily be thrown away after the wedding. If an item has a good purpose it will not see the trash bin any time soon. Finally, they can be easily customized to meet the theme of the wedding. In this case, we are talking about a winter wedding theme. The success of this cannot be underestimated and in some cases the cups can be quite cheap even with personalization

Personalizing ornaments is another great option especially if a wedding is close to Christmas. This is a great opportunity because few of your guests will say no to an ornament for their tree. Personalized tree ornaments also make great souvenirs and mementos because most families cherish these items and use them for several Christmases. It is a great way to make your special day a part of the family history of your guests.

Stationary is another great item to give guest. Items such as notebooks and pens can be given to represent the new chapter you and your groom are opening in your lives. They can also be of use to attendees when they need to write down a note or even record an important date or reminder. The pen is just another example of a useful item that can also become a wedding favor. In the end you cannot help but benefit in the end.

The best favors are those that are designed to preserve memories. For a photo frame , album, or even a place holder, personalizing an object with your picture and a short message of thanks will only make these items all the more special. If your guests have taken pictures of your wedding these gifts will serve as great places to store them and along with their winter theme they will help guests to remember and reminisce over your special day and the wonderful time that everyone had. This is a way that personalization makes your wedding unforgettable.

4 Spring Ideas for Planning your Nuptials

If you are a bride marrying this spring, you are not only just celebrating the birth of your married life together with your groom, but also the rebirth of nature. This gives you the opportunity to meld the two themes of matrimony and spring into a harmonious whole for your ceremony. The best part is that you plan it accordingly; you will not only have a wonderful wedding, but one that is not too costly. A wedding has many components that a bride has to go over as she begins her planning. Other than picking your spring theme, you will need to choose the decorations and floral arrangements, plan the ceremony and reception, and most importantly think of spring themed wedding favors to give to your guests, to thank them for coming to your ceremony. This sounds like a lot to do, but here are some great suggestions to help you get started as you plan your spring wedding.

Think about the locations for your ceremony and reception. As the saying goes “Location, Location, Location.” Where you hold your ceremony and reception can play a role in how successful your wedding is. First there are the practical needs that must be met. Look for a location that can easily and comfortably accommodate all your guests. A good way to know what to look for is to see who has RSVP’ed and compare the total number to the capacity of the venues that you are looking at. Next you need to see if the location has amenities that you can take advantage of for your wedding. For example if you choose a hotel with a kitchen for your reception, you can likely use the hotel as your caterer and save money in a package deal. Of course there also has to be impact. Play around with using dramatic locations for exchanging your vows such as a public garden.

Look for interesting wedding favors to give your guests. Wedding favors are a great way to say thank you to friends, family, and other guests for taking the time to come to your ceremony. When choosing spring wedding favors try to make the guest gifts match your theme. Try to comparison shop to find quality items at affordable prices. A great idea is to give something that not only matches your seasonal theme, but also has some useful or amusing feature. This can be a cup, keychain, or a money clip.

Think carefully about your floral arrangements. Flowers are one of the cornerstones of a beautiful wedding and if you are holding a spring ceremony, choosing the right flower becomes even more important. The interesting thing about flowers is the special meaning that have been attached to them over the centuries. A great way to convey a special message about what your wedding day means to you and your groom is to use the language of flowers to decide your floral arrangement. Each flower has a special meaning pertaining to love. For example a white rose can mean pure and eternal love.

Be creative with your reception menu and try to match it with your seasonal theme. For your reception a great idea is to serve spring salads or use garden vegetables in other dishes. This is not only healthy and delicious but adds a delicious and satisfying touch to your reception.

What Kind of Services do Banquet Halls Provide?

The use of banquets has become a popular way of holding such large events as a wedding reception. When you are beginning to plan for the big day, one of the first items on the wedding plan is finding the right banquet hall for the reception. There are many questions you will have such as large a hall do you need? Once you have settled on the size, you will need to know what services the hall will provide to make your wedding day memorable and glitch-free.

Most banquet halls will have a wedding specialist on staff. Spend some time discussing your dreams and let the specialist guide you through the process. The wedding planner will help you determine the size of hall you need, and work out a menu. You will want to consider the size of dance floor, stage, and head table when deciding if the room will work for your affair.

A wedding coordinator at a banquet hall can recommend everything from flowers, limousine service, cakes, balloons, DJ, bands, photographers, videographers, invitations, matches, napkins, tux rentals and dresses.

Part of the planning at the hall will include choice of linens, chair covers, ceiling decorations, specialty lighting. The banquet hall will provide a podium and microphone. A color theme will be chosen and followed through to all your specified details. As well, the centerpieces and candelabra will be provided. Of course, catering is also part of the service offered at banquet halls. Many banquet hall service providers will offer a sampling to the bride and groom when they are making menu choices. Most banquet halls will offer many options, from casual cocktails and finger foods to formal sit-down multi-course dinners. Some offer printed menu cards at each table. Hors d’oeuvres served during the reception line are an option offered by most halls. Champagne for the toasts can be included in wedding packages at many halls, as well as late-night coffee and tea service. Some offer hot towels after the meal.

The banquet hall provides professional wait staff to ensure that the meal is served and cleared smoothly and with great care. The hall also provides china and silver so that the meal is presented most elegantly. The hall will provide coat check service, and bar set-up and attendants. They also provide ample parking to accommodate all your guests.

Some banquet halls have a wedding chapel on the premises. They will organize the music, flowers and seating in the chapel. Other halls provide a grand piano and experienced piano player to maintain an ambiance for your guests throughout the reception. Other banquet halls have a bridal suite attached which is a room with an ensuite bath in which the happy couple can rest, refresh, and find a few calm moments. Other banquet halls will provide airport shuttle service for out-of-town guests. Some banquet halls have gardens that provide beautiful backdrops for photos of the wedding party. Banquet halls attached to a hotel often offer rooms to the bride and groom, and wedding guests, at a discount.

There are many choices of venue for your wedding. When considering which banquet hall to choose, keep in mind your own personal tastes, which space feels comfortable to you, which options offered are important, and how it all fits your wedding budget. Renting a banquet hall will make your joyous occasion even more wonderful.

American Wedding Practices

Living in the US makes one feel free – free to do anything, free to live, free to love, free from traditions. While this is true, there are still many practices done during wedding that renders this memorable event with a distinct American touch.

Here are some:

Starting from the engagement, Americans can think of unique ways to personalize their wedding. As there really isn’t any engagement tradition, the more unique the marriage proposal is done, the better. For most wedding preparations, the engaged couple visits their parents to inform them of their recent engagement.

At times, the engaged couple hosts an engagement party. The engagement party costs less than a wedding reception since most of the time; the menu will only include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Therefore, if the couple is on a tight budget, they can just invite more guests to the engagement party if they plan to limit the number of guests during the wedding.

Most wedding preparations have a bridal shower given by the maid of honor and the bridesmaids. The groom may also have a bachelor party the night before the wedding but he has to be careful not to drink too much.

Wedding invitations should include response cards to quickly inform the couple whether the person has accepted or declined the invitation. The wedding invitations should also be sent within four to six weeks before the event.

Usually, there is a rehearsal dinner in which the wedding party and guests came from far places to be present at the wedding attend. It was practiced that the groom’s parents pay for this dinner.

A bridal luncheon may be hosted for the bride’s attendants during the wedding day. However, time constraints may not permit this to be part of the schedule for the wedding day. Likewise, the groom may also host a groom’s dinner for his groomsmen.

Interestingly, even if the couple is not very religious, they still prefer a religious ceremony. However, this may pose a problem since in America people of different faiths and religious backgrounds get married.

Even if there are few people who believe in bad luck, some couples still make sure that the groom does not see his bride until she starts waking on the aisle.

It is still practiced that the groom and his groomsmen enter the church through a side door. The bride will then walk down the aisle with her father. In some cases when both her father and stepfather brought up the bride, she may ask them both to escort her.

During a formal reception, there is usually a bridal table where the couple and the attendants sit. Also, food and drinks should be served as the guests appear at the reception.

Before, gift giving used to depend on what the guest will feel useful for the couple. Now, it is better to register for gifts so the guests will know what to bring that the couple will need.

Upon receiving an engagement or wedding gift, it is better to send a thank you note apart from saying “thank you” to the giver. This should be sent within two weeks upon receipt of the gift. Make a personalized thank you note, instead of using an impersonal generic thank you note.

These are just some American practices during weddings. Whether one chooses to this or prefers to have a very different wedding, what’s more important is that American’s still believe in the wedding vow, “For better or worse, ’til death do us part.

What Is The Advantage Of A Live Covers Band?

Live cover bands are those bands that choose to perform songs that are already famous by different artists. If you are planning to throw a party and you want to host a winning one, this might be a great idea. It is because people listening already know the songs which makes it so enjoyable for them. What Is more, you have to ask for a band that can play and perform that mixes with the theme of your very special night.

You may even notice that the range of their knowledge in music is much larger, you may see and hear a live covers band that plays certain music that comes from a particular period of time or from a specific band only; they are very much better in performing and playing music that is particularly in that artists style.

The first thing that you should realize is that the Internet is going to be your best bet for finding a covers band with the sound that you want. For instance, you will discover that you are in a perfect place to find them by location and that you may have the right band in your own town or just few towns over.

In addition, online directories that will link you to covers bands can be found easily with just one touch of your mouse and keyboard. As these covers band have and budgeted their costs for travel, there is not going to be a problem about transport, and the only thing left is whom are we going to hire?

Isnt technology very amazing? The internet really made our lives much easier. Before considering inviting and asking a particular live covers band, you may even get the chance to visit and listen to the very songs that they cover through Myspace or other social networking sites. For sure, upon your directory search, it would also be linked to their website or, something like ‘follow us in myspace and twitter!’ In some cases, there bands quality of sound that has been uploaded is much better than others, but aside from that, you may want to take some time to think about and analyze their real potential.

Do not be in such a hurry. It is important that you dedicate your time to reflect whether which of the covers band you would listen to and probably hire for your event. More often, they do not even have enough demo clips uploaded in their website or webpage, and an option that you may consider is sending an email asking for a demo cd.

Also, remember that you should know what you are looking for. What, if any, songs do you need them to be familiar with and what styles should they be able to play in? Is there a dress code that you need them to adhere to, and are there any important space concerns that you need to make known to them?

Yet, the most important part here is, how much are you going to spend on hiring a live covers band? Moreover, are they acceptable? Sometimes, finding out first how much some of the bands of your choice charge may help, and try to compare it with others as well.

Take some time and consider how you are going to be able to get the best covers band for your needs. There are some great performers out there, so take a moment and learn more about which ones you want for your events.

Maldives Holidays – Bandos Island

Over a thousand small coral islands make up the Republic of the Maldives and are scattered like glitter in the turquoise Indian Ocean. Beautiful sparkling white sands, coral reefs, and fantastic marine life provide one of planet Earths most beautiful settings for a holiday.

The Maldives island resort of Bandos is located in the North Mal Atoll, which is the closest atoll to the capital of Mal. Transfer from Mali, which is where the main airport is, takes roughly 20 minutes by boat and allowing you to easily nip back during your stay if you wish to explore the capital city which is more westernized than the remaining islands.

The diving in Bandos is spectacular with an excellent PADI dive school, shipwrecks to explore, and an abundant array of marine species from clown fish, barracuda, giant stingrays and my favourite the white tip reef sharks. For the water-sports lovers the reef also provides some sporting surf. I loved my last holiday when I got to do some kite-boarding here.

The resort of Bandos is officially a 4-star and is currently equipped with 84 standard rooms on the beach front and an additional 19 that are slightly set back. The standard rooms alternate between double and twin bed layout to provide for families, some having ajoining doors which can be locked if you are not sharing ajoining rooms with family or friends. They are nicely furnished with tiled floors and balconies, but you might consider the bathrooms to be on the slightly smaller side. Some of these rooms face westwards into the sunset and are also blessed with one of the best sections of beach.

There are 48 Junior suites on the resort which are stylishly decorated with nice color schemes and solid wood four-posters. I was lucky enough to stay in a Junior suite during my stay and in the section in which I stayed in, the beach was almost completely submerged at high tide. I heard a couple of people complain about this but then these rooms do not cost as much as the Water Bungalows so I personally was very happy, but then I love being right next to the water.

The resort has gone out of its way to accommodate families, with a purpose-built childcare facility complete with female staff on hand to look after the children and provide babysitting in the evenings. Some of the rooms in the standard and junior class have an interconnecting door for families split between several rooms.

The Bandos resort accommodates visitors getting married with the “Kuda Bandos Sunset Wedding” which features a taste of traditional island ceremony, a sunset boat ride, unique cultural costumes, Maldivian drums and traditional style and ceremony. The ceremony is held on the beach of one of the uninhabited islands in the atoll – Kuda Bandos – and is followed by a private cruise for the newlyweds on a Dhoni (Maldivian boat). Later, the newlyweds can enjoy a romantic private dinner set on the beach of Kuda Bandos.

Indeed, it is a joyous experience to the persons involved but it can also be very assiduous as you try to organize every single detail of the event while watching closely on the wedding date.

The first thing a couple has to look into in planning a wedding is the venue for exchanging their vows, which is the highlight of the event. More than the beauty of the place, what one needs to know in choosing a venue is the price and the number of people it can accommodate.

Making The Perfect Wedding Flowers

Wedding ceremonies are made up of many integral parts – one of which is flowers. The use of them has developed beyond just mere decoration, and they are now as much a part of wedding traditions as anything else. In fact, can you even remember the last time that you went to a wedding at which there was not any flowers?

They are a symbol of new hope and a bright future. Done right, they create a heaven like environment, and intensify the feelings of joy being experienced by the bride.

Not just any flowers presented in any way will suffice for a wedding though; preparing wedding flowers requires a special approach…

1) The Selection Of The Flowers

Always keep the theme and colors of the wedding in mind when choosing what flowers to use. The flowers should complement the other aspects of the wedding, not distract from them, and so a good idea is to match and blend the flowers with color and style of the brides dress. The types of flowers you choose are also important, so do not just focus on the color. Do a little research and find out what flowers are in season at the time of the wedding. By being knowledgeable about this, you can get the freshest looking flowers at the best possible price.

2) Additional Materials

You will need more than just the flowers themselves. Good scissors, florist tape and ribbons will also be required in order to turn a standard bunch of flowers into a bouquet of flowers that is fit for the bride to carry down the aisle. Consider buying, or renting from a library, some books on the topic too, so that you can learn some little tricks and tips.

3) Creation Of The Bouquets

This is one of the many various ways that you take your flowers and arrange them into a beautiful bouquet. Select three flowers, of the same type, that you particularly like, and that you want to make the centerpiece of the bouquet. Put them together, creating a triangle. Stack each flower unevenly; each one should have a slightly different level of height. This technique adds dimension to your arrangement. Continue to add two or three flowers at a time to this initial triangle, until the arrangement resembles a dome. At the is point, use some florist tape to secure them together by their stems. This is really more than a one person job as, for a perfect result, you will need one person to hold the flowers together (there could be well be 36 in a single bouquet) whilst the other one tapes them.

4) Finishing Touches

Finally, finish the arrangement with suitable ribbons that match the color of the flowers and the wedding dress. You can tie them up in a bow. Be sure to cover all the florist tape with ribbons. Carefully cut the excess stems with a sharp scissor approximately an inch below the ribbon. Place the bouquet on a plastic container or a vase with a quarter inch of water or you can store them inside a fridge covered by a loose plastic bag. Finally, spray the flowers with water avoiding the ribbons.

4 Enchanting Ideas for Candle Winter Wedding Favors

This winter, the goal of many brides is to set their wedding apart. Different brides will try different things. Some will try to obtain a one of a kind cake for their reception. Others will try decorating their ceremony and reception to look like winter wonderlands. Others will focus on the accents and the most direct way to add a finishing touch to your winter wedding is with winter wedding favors. Each is a lovely item that a bride gives to thank guest for attending her wedding. There are many items that a bride can choose from but one of the most endearing and classical are candle wedding favors. Candles have a special significance when it comes to winter especially with holidays like Christmas and Hanukkah. However they can often be overlooked. However, keep an open mind. There are more to candles than you think, and they can be quite versatile gifts that can impress your guests. Here are some varieties that you can think of using as gifts at your nuptials.

Novelty candles are great because they are unusual and eye catching. They can make a bold statement that other candles may not be able to make. They are often made of special materials or come in interesting shapes and designs. If you can pick the right item, these candles can be quite breathtaking for your guests. An excellent example is Snowflake Gel Candles. Each of these is made of a special gel wax and has a single silver snowflake set in the middle. As you can imagine, these look spectacular and your guests will be glad to receive such a singular gift. You can also give Snowflake shaped candles. Your guests can use them as decorations as the holidays approach.

Scented candles are a variety that has been growing in popularity even outside of weddings. They come in delicious fragrances that can change the entire atmosphere of your guest’s home. For a winter themed wedding, try to get seasonal scents such as cinnamon, peppermint, and ginger. These are also quite affordable and you can find varieties that come in their own lovely candleholders that can help hold and prolong the fragrance of your candles. These will be very popular with your female guests and can also be paired with other related aromatherapy items such as bath salts.

Another great type of candle is votive candles these are candles that come in glass containers with pictures painted on them. They can range from the religious candles most people are familiar with to secular ones that have lovely winter season or snowflake motifs. They are perfect for the winter season because they can be used for both winter themes and holiday themes. They are also durable. Even long after they are used the containers can be kept for their decorative quality

You can also use personalized candles. These are great choices because they can be easily customized, and they also give a personal touch. Rather than just giving a generic gift you can give something to your guests that personally convey your thanks with their name and a short message of gratitude. Personalization can also be used for a wide selection of candles. This allows you to combine several great features into one amazing candle that your guests will be sure to appreciate.
